      Thomas Lloyd, Merion. Buried 9 Mo. 18, 1748. Adventurer on Ship Lyon, He was born in Merionethshire, Wales, about 1699; died in Merion, Pa. 1748. He was a brother of Robert Lloyd, and a relative * (* Changed apparently by the author from nephew) of Thomas Lloyd, Deputy governor under William Penn. Thomas Lloyd (died 1748) married Elizabeth, daughter of William ap Edward of Blockley. This Thomas Lloyd had a cousin * (* Changed apparently by the author from nephew) "Rees Peter's wife's son", John Roberts, Cordwainer. Thomas Lloyd's will was proved Feb. 6, 1748. Signed 5 Mo. 26, 1741-2. ** (** Crossed out apparently by the author "In the 'Minute Bood of Property', this Thomas Lloyd is called 'Tho. Lloyd, yeoman, of Merioneth (not the Presid't'). Thos. Lloyd, the President, had a brother Charles who was a purchaser in Merion and sold his property to Richard Cuarton. Cha. Lloyd and Tho. Lloyd, on Holme's Map. Thomas Lloyd, the Pres't, was an early medical practitioner. He was born in Dolobran, Montgomeryshire, 1640. Educated at Oxford University. Died in Penna. 1694. He had nine children; a son, Thomas of Philadelphia, who had numerous descendants; three other sons, who died without issue; a dau. Hannah, who married John Delavall and Richard Hill; a dau. Rachel who m. Samuel Preston; a dau. Mary who m. Isaac Norris; a dau. Elizabeth who m. Daniel Zachary; and a dau. Deborah, who m. Mordecai Moore. Thos. Lloyd, Merion, mentions wife Elizabeth.
