    • William ap Edward died Jan, 3, 1714. Will proved in Philadelphia, Jan.
      29, 1714. He was an "Adventurer" in the "Ship Lyon". Died in Blockley
      township, Philadelphia Co. He was variously called William ap Edward,
      William Edward and William Bedward. He left one son, Edward William, born
      in Blockley, 6 Mo. 7, 1689; and several daughters.
      The first wife of William ap Edward was Katherine, daughter of Robert ap
      Hugh, and sister of Hugh Roberts. His second wife was Jane ap Edward
      (maiden name.) The children of William ap Edward assumed the surname of
      William or Williams.
      William ap Edward had two brothers, John ap Edward and Evan ap Edward,
      early settlers in Penna. And these were the sons of Edward ap John, of
      Landerval, near Bala, or Penllyn, Merionethshire, in North Wales. Another
      brother, Thomas ap Edward remained in Wales.
      William ap Edward had by his first wife Katharine, two daughters,
      Katharine (b. 1676) and Elizabeth (b. 1672). Elizabeth m. Thomas Lloyd of
      Merion and had children. Katharine m. __________ of Salem, N. J. and had
      no children.
      By his second wife Jane, William ap Edward had one son, Edward William (b.
      7 Mo. 2, 1689); a daughter Sarah (b. 8 Mo. 29, 1685) who m. Thomas
      Lawrence of Haverford; a daughter Ellen (b. 4 Mo. 19, 1691) who m. Henry
      Lawrence, brother of Thomas of Haverford; and a daughter Jane, who m. Evan
      Thomas, of Merion. * (* Crossed our apparently by the auther (son of
      Edward Thomas).)
      Edward William (b. 1689) son of William ap Edward , m. Eleanor Lawrence,
      sister of Thomas and Henry of Haverford. William ap Edward also had a
      daughter Mary (b. 1694) who m. R. Preston, of Phila. 1722. ** (** Added
      apparenetly by the author to read Richard Preston.)
      Children of Evan Thomas and Jane William, his wife were, Edward, Eleanor,
      Joseph, Jonathan.
      The William ap Edward homestead stood, until recent years immediately back
      of Overbrook station, Penna. R. R. fronting on City Avenue, on the
      Philadelphia side of the line. The ap Edward (Bedward) property was
      "Overbrook Farms", later belonging to the George family. The name of Wm.
      Bedward is on Reed's Map.
      William Bedward is on the List of Taxables, "Beyond Schoolkill," 1693. A
      "First Purchaser". Sus. 1696.
      Wn. Edward mentions wife Jane; son Edward, daughter Mary. Daughter
      Elizabeth, wife of Thos. Lloyd; daughters Katharine, Sarah, Ellen. Leaves
      legacy to Merion Meeting. Sons Edward William, Thos. Lawrence, Henry
      Lawrende, Thos. Lloyd. friends, David Jones, Thos. Jones. Witnesses,
      James Hinton, Jenkin David, Abel Thomas. [1]
