      Thomas Musgrave, of Halifax, in Yourshire, is mentioned in the Penna.
      Archibes, 2d Series, Vol. XIX, p. 306. He purchased a tract of 750 acres of
      land in 1698. He, deceasing, Jonathan Cockshaw stands bound to see said
      land confirmed to T. Musgrave's children, Thomas, Abraham, and Elizabeth,
      "said Jonathan's Nephews."
      From page 331, same Vol., it is learned that Hannah Musgrove,
      Administratrix of Thos. Musgrave, was named Price in 1702.
      In 1703, Jonathan Cockshaw produced a return of 500 acres surveyed to
      Thomas Musgrave's children, in Caln Township, Chester Co. 1702, and
      another return of 400 acres laid out to the same children, in 1701, joining
      on the corner of the other. Page 381.

    • (Research):Abraham Musgrave, 11 o. (Jan.) 18, 1714-15. 9, 4, 1714. Abraham Musgrave, son of Thomas, late of Halifax, in Yorkshire, Great Britain, yeoman, dec'd; and Gainor Jones, dau. of William, late of Gwynnedd, dec'd, at Gwynnedd Meeting House. Wit: William Musgrave, Jon. Cockshaw, and Anna Jones. (I believe the name "John Christian" is due to an error in Copying. I think it should be " Jon. or Jonathan Cockshaw," who was an uncle of Abraham Musgrave.) Correct. * (* In the list of witnesses another name had obviously been erased and the name of Jon. Cockshaw entered. Following the word 'correct', the following was scrstched out apparently by the author "The Abraham Musgrave who died 11 Mo. 18, 1714-15 is not the one who married 9, 4, 1714. He was witness to the marriage of Wm. Musgrave and Barbara Bevan, 10, 28, 1721. Don't know." Thomas Musgrave, of Halifax, Yorkshire, England was an early purchaser. He died 1700, leaving wife Hannah; children Thomas, Abraham, Elizabeth, William. His widow, 1701 married David Price. Of the children of Thomas and Hannah, Elizabeth married 1713, Evan Evans, son of Thomas Evan of Gwynnedd; William married, in 1721, Barbara Bevan, daughter of Evan, of Merion; Abraham married, in 1714, Gainor Jones, daughter of Wm. of Gwynnedd. In the Abel Thomas family Bible, in possession of Mrs. Rebecca Thomas Hoffman of Lower Merion, appears the following record: --- Abraham Musgrave, Jr. No date, but on the same page is the following: Jacob, son of John and Catharine Matson, born Feb. 5, 1742. This was Katharine Gregory, whose marriage to John Matson is recorded at the First Presbyterian Church, Philadelphia, 11 Mo. 5, 1740. Letters of Administration on the estate of Abraham Musgrave of Haverford were granted 11 Mo. (Jan) 27, 1714. Administrators, Gainor Musgrave, William Lewis. Securities, Jonathan Cockshow, David Llewellyn. See Administrator's Docket, West Chester Pa. 1, p. 34. Another Abraham Musgrave died in Darby, 1787. Will recorded at West Chester.
